ABSTRACT
As a South East Asian country on its path of developing a market economy, Vietnam needs a solid information infrastructure. Library development will play an important part in this effort. This paper discusses issues relating to library infrastructure development for Vietnam. In the first part of the paper, standardization is suggested for information organization. The second part of the paper provides suggestions that Vietnamese library schools might want to adopt for their curricula. The last part of the paper discusses roles for a potential Vietnamese Library Association.
